Tim H. Welton, O.D. Dr. Tim Welton is a lifelong California resident who moved to Anaheim at the age of two after his father completed his service in the US Army. He graduated from both Sycamore Junior High School and Katella High School. Afterwards, he attended the California State University at Fullerton where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology. He then was accepted to and graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry with his Doctor of Optometry degree. Next, he completed a residency, which only approximately 10% of optometrists obtain, in Geriatrics and Hospital-Based Optometry from the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In 2005, Dr. Tim Welton became one of the first optometrists to be glaucoma certified in California.
Professionally, Dr. Tim Welton is a member of the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He has been a consultant for the National Boards of Examiners in Optometry since 1999 and currently helps develop the test that optometrists need to obtain their licensure. Dr. Tim Welton has been a consultant for the California State Board of Optometry since 2011.
Although Dr. Tim Welton practices full-scope optometry, he particularly enjoys fitting contact lenses, comanaging refractive surgery/LASIK and managing eye disease.
Dr. Tim Welton and his family -- wife, Gina, and his two daughters, Georgia and Sofia – reside in nearby Placentia. When away from the office, Dr. Tim Welton loves to spend time with his extended family, watch his daughters play soccer and workout in the gym.
